Ok I was planning on posting this on Sunday but I fell into a food coma and passed out as soon as I sat on my bed.
I met up with my friend for lunch, well no, it wasn’t for lunch actually; we met up for doughnuts, which then turned into lunch/more desserts. He’s vegan, I’m not, but I like trying vegan foods so that was the aim for the day. He’d heard of a magical place called ‘Doughnut Time’ in Shaftesbury Avenue which sells regular as well as vegan doughnuts.
They have a whole bunch of amazing doughnuts with the cutest puns ever like ‘Stranger Rings 2.0’, ‘Hans Rolo’, and ‘Hotline Ring’. Wait let me try and find some closeups of these babies.
They’re priced at £4.50 which I think is fine because, well because food. Also, if we were to compare it to Krispy Kreme for example, there’s only a £2.50 difference and these are TWICE the size. But again, my thoughts might be clouded by the food.
My friend and I both ordered the ‘Cornelius Fudge’ which was a chocolate iced doughnut with a brownie and hazelnut topping.
By the time I realised I needed to take a “bite shot” so you could see the inside, it was too late. This baby was gone in under 2 minutes. *Correction* 1 minute. I eat quickly.
Verdict: AHHHMAAAZING!! This doughnut was so soft, and so much lighter than normal doughnuts, I could have eaten 3 of these. I wanted to. But we went to get pizza and cake straight after. It wasn’t too sweet, and you couldn’t even tell it was vegan (I think vegan food can have a bad reputation sometimes but I think like all food, it’s about the ingredients and how it’s cooked, if the person isn’t a good cook and the ingredients aren’t the best, then the food probably won’t taste very good either). So yeh, all in all 8.5/10, deffo worth checking out.
Let me know if you’ve tried it before, or if you know somewhere better, because I will go there. Like now.
